I guess I'm growing up.
My gifts this year were very home make-y and I love it!
I got a new dishwasher (to replace the old one--Scott); a kitchen aid mixer, a quesadilla maker, a pancake puff maker, an mp3 player (for working out with), and gift certificates. Scott will install the dishwasher this weekend and I am very excited about that!
Happy New Year!

Finally
I Finally got a job, albeit a part time job. But still, I'll be contributing to the income in the D household, which makes me happy.
I start next week and what I will be doing is working with a mentally, emotionally and socially handicapped little boy. I will be working Tuesdays through Fridays in the afternoon for a few hours each day. The agency I work for tells me what to work on and we go from there. He is non-verbal, so I am not sure how this will work, I like to talk a lot, lol!
I'm still working on the Afghan swap. Except, my doctor diagnosed me with tendonitis, so it's painful for me to knit for too long of a time. Starting next week I have to go to physical therapy for my tendonitis. It is in one arm and has moved across my back, into my neck and into the other arm. At first, my right arm hurt more, now my left arm does!
Here is the latest picture of the afghan. I've added more since then.
Here in Maine we had an ice storm, then a few days later we got a snow storm. Ah! My husband finally got his plow ready so we won't have to pay for plowing this year!
I can't believe today is the anniversary of the day my mom died. It's been one year. I can't believe I went through a whole year without her.

Coming Along
Still no full time job here...glad Scott is working! I wish I could be too! I've applied here and there, I hope something comes in soon!
To keep myself busy I joined two Afghan Swaps. The first one is browns and pinks (Chocolate Covered Cherries) and the other is Pastels (Spring Fling). I joined 4 squares yesterday, I'm excited to get more.

I can't believe craft fair season is already almost over! Oy! We've gotten a few nice treasures here and there.
I still have to print our wedding photos--next week is the time. I want to put together a scrap book, as well as a photo album. And, of course, I want to give photos to Scott's father and to my sister.
That's all for now. Hopefully something exciting happens soon!

Quick Update
Life on the married front is still pretty much the same as life on the engaged front and life on the dating front. We've been living together for almost two years, still just getting used to his habits and he's so laid back I think he hardly notices my habits.
Labor day weekend is upon us and Scott is on call, so we're not doing much.
And, craft season is coming upon us.

Caught Red Pawed
I misspoke in the video--I said dried canned food--there is no such thing. I meant, just canned cat food. She has to eat it because she had jaw surgery a while ago.

Beautiful
So, on Saturday August 2, 2008 I went to a beautiful wedding, my own!

This is Scotty, waiting for me and wondering where the best man is!!
This is me walking down the aisle with my brother.
Scott and I during the ceremony.
First kiss as husband and wife!

Mr. and Mrs. Dimmick!

Mr. and Mrs. Dimmick kissing!! We had bells that people could ring for us to kiss, but they were hard to hear. So...SOMEONE...on Scott's side of the family (well, family friend) decides he will SHAKE the centerpieces!! (Our center pieces were glass rocks in canning jars)......

Our beautiful cupcake cake!

Cutting into our cake.
My pretty flowers.
Wait...you're not Scotty...
And you're definitely not Sam!!
See, we had tons of fun and it was gorgeous! I'll add more posts with various photos as people start sending them to me!

Rehearsal Tonight
Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner is tonight. I'm excited, but nervous. It's all coming together, but I feel like there is so much more to do for set-up and beyond! One of my aunts got the flowers for us, so all I have to do tomorrow morning is run a ribbon around them. Yay! That's one thing off my list! Erin took me to get my nails done and then out for lunch. We ran by wal-mart to get a few things and now I'm home, waiting on Scotty. (My life story!)
So nervous about tomorrow!!

These are the Memories I don't like
Well, I came home from taking Sidka (one of the dogs) out and I found something terrible. I wish I hadn't been the one to find him, but then again, I don't even know how I'm going to break it to Scott...
RIP
Checkers, we loved you.
RIP
Checkers, we loved you.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Bridal Shower
There are now 11 and counting days until the wedding (ahhh!!).
My sister threw me a beautiful bridal shower.
All the people I love were there!
And of course, they took tons of pictures of me...
One of the very first gifts.
This is me looking happy!
This is me with one of our many gifts.
This was the cake.
It said "Good Luck Sam and Scott" and it had a picture of me when I was a baby.
Erin and I....(apparently this is some kind of tradition...)
my aunt collected bows and put them on a paper plate and then I had to wear it.
Yay. (You can see how happy I was to wear it...)
